One hour and forty-four minutes of deep, ambient variance to help you get lost in your work.Ī nice 23-minute ethereal progression to slot into your playlist.Ī little more cosmic in theme than the others, and strangely repetitive without getting boring.Ī fantastic interlayering of ambient instrumentation that builds to a crescendo towards the end of the album. Wings of an Angel - The Unearthly Demagogue And His Amber Of SorrowsĬool name aside, this one is my current favourite. Opaline - Watching a Glowing Horizon Bend with EarthĪ really nice, ambient soundscape that carries you away. Jump about seven minutes in for a quick preview. Lustmord - The Place Where The Black Stars HangĪll the tracks are important it's an artwork as a whole, but check out track four in particular: "Metastatic Resonance".
#ADHD HYPERFOCUS MUSIC FULL#
Most of these are on bandcamp, so you can listen to them in full online before forking out. Headphones on, volume up enough that external sounds are no longer audible, and get to work. I present to you my current favourite tracks that are, in a word, magic. There are no beats or vocals, and very little in the way of identifiable tunes, but there is enough variance that your brain doesn't get frustrated by repetition. These generally fall into a genre called "ambient drones", which are basically a sort of cross between white noise and atmospheric soundscapes with musical undertones. Some of you know that there are certain types of music that, somehow, resonate with our brains in a way that help it to start tuning everything else out.
#ADHD HYPERFOCUS MUSIC HOW TO#
When you're not there though, it's easy to waste more trying to work out how to get into the zone than actually getting anything done. When hyperfocus comes, it's great- your cold drink gets warm because you forget it's there, your hot food goes cold because you forget to eat it, your playlist will play right through tracks that you'd normally skip because you're so focused on the work that you've all but forgotten to enjoy the music as well.

I've actually posted on this topic in the past, but old posts are not exactly visible to newer members, and even more dedicated members will often miss posts they may find of use, so I thought I'd post again.įor any of you who work at a desk (probably behind a computer screen), and particularly those of you who write code for a living as I do, you know how hard it can be to get into zone a lot of the time.
